Officer promoted during Flying Squad parade

Julieta Klaasen has been promoted from constable to sergeant, with senior officers encouraging her to uphold the discipline and service standards expected within the Flying Squad.

The commander of Benoni Flying Squad, Lieutenant Colonel Tladi Lukhele, assisted by Warrant Officer Peterson Monoge, bestowed ranks on newly appointed Sergeant Julieta Klaasen.

She was recently promoted from Constable to her new rank at Benoni Flying Squad on April 24.

Klaasen was congratulated by everyone who attended, and it was explained that with the ranks comes more responsibilities in the Service.

As an operational shift member, she was advised by Lukhele to begin learning the duties involved in shift management, as she may at any time have to step into the position of acting shift commander.

The parade concluded with advice to maintain the high standard of service upheld by the Flying Squad and to set an example for junior members by upholding the discipline for which the unit is known.
