Kempton Park church supports Kaalfontein families through monthly feeding scheme
The outreach began with congregants gathering alongside children and expectant mothers for a prayer session, seeking God's blessing, protection and guidance.
The St Edmunds and St Francis Congregation of Kempton Park Parish Anglican Church continued its commitment to supporting vulnerable communities through its monthly feeding outreach at the Kaalfontein Informal Settlement on July 11.
The outreach began with congregants gathering alongside children and expectant mothers for a prayer session, seeking God’s blessing, protection and guidance.
Following the prayer, nutritious meals, fresh fruit and treats were distributed to community members, providing both nourishment and encouragement.

In addition to the food distribution, members of the congregation partnered with children from the settlement in a clean-up initiative aimed at promoting the importance of maintaining a clean and healthy living environment.
The outreach concluded with a final prayer and words of encouragement before volunteers departed.
“The monthly outreach reflects the congregation’s ongoing mission to serve the residents of the Kaalfontein Informal Settlement with compassion, dignity and faith. Looking ahead, the church hopes to expand the programme to include more adults within the community,” said members of the congregation.
To achieve this goal, the church is appealing to businesses, particularly food outlets and suppliers, to support the initiative through donations of food and ingredients that will allow the programme to reach more residents.
The congregation is also appealing for assistance from companies and organisations willing to provide a skip for waste disposal.

The support would assist with ongoing clean-up efforts and help create a cleaner and safer environment for the community.
Community members, businesses and organisations interested in partnering with the church are encouraged to support the initiative and contribute towards making a meaningful difference in the lives of Kaalfontein residents.
