Laerskool Kruinsig celebrates trio’s ATKV Redenaars success
Laerskool Kruinsig takes pride in their speakers as they reach the finals
Laerskool Kruinsig is celebrating the achievement of three young speakers who have qualified for the national ATKV Redenaars Finals.
The finals took place on August 4 and 5 at Klein Kariba Holiday Resort, where some of South Africa’s top young public speakers will compete.
Ava Jacobs represented the school in the Grade 1 to 3 division, while Nelshia Hagen and Lunè Slabbert competed in the Grade 6 and 7 division.

The competition challenged learners to demonstrate their confidence, language skills and ability to present persuasive arguments before an audience and panel of adjudicators.
According to a Laerskool Kruinsig governing body (SGB) member, reaching the national stage is a significant achievement, with three learners from one school qualifying being a rare accomplishment.
The learners progressed through the preliminary round before competing in the semi-finals and securing their places among the country’s top young speakers.
The school said the learners’ success reflects their talent, dedication and the hours of preparation required to deliver speeches with confidence and conviction.
“Laerskool Kruinsig is immensely proud of Ava, Nelshia and Lunè. Their achievement is an inspiration to their fellow pupils and a wonderful example of what can be accomplished through hard work, perseverance and a willingness to step confidently onto the stage,” the SGB member said.
The school community wished all three learners the best as they prepare to represent Laerskool Kruinsig at the national finals, adding that they have already distinguished themselves as proud ambassadors for the school.
