Ekurhuleni police divers recover two bodies within days

Divers from the Ekurhuleni Water Policing and Diving Services recovered the bodies of two men between July 20 and 23.

On the morning of July 20, members, with the assistance of K9 Search & Rescue and a helicopter, recovered the body of a missing 30-year-old man after an ongoing search since July 15, when a fisherman reported that he witnessed the drowning of a victim in the Natalspruit River, Edenpark.

The victim’s body was recovered in an eddy in the river, giving closure to his family and was handed over to Zonkisizwe SAPS members on scene.

Members deployed to Moleleki Ext 2, Katlehong, late afternoon on July 23 recovered the decomposing body of an unknown male from the water between the reeds of the Natalspruit River.

The victim’s body was handed to members of Katlehong SAPS for further investigation.

Inquest dockets have been opened in both cases for investigation.
