Lesufi leads Ekurhuleni law enforcement operation
Edenvale, Edleen and Kempton Park precincts joined specialised units including K9, Equestrian and POP as the City intensifies efforts to ensure safety and compliance.
Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Chief of Police IJ Mapiyeye joined Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi on August 21 to spearhead a multidisciplinary inter-ministerial operation across the Ekurhuleni Northern Region.
EMPD spokesperson Thabiso Makgatho said the operation aimed to intensify law enforcement, enforce municipal by-laws, address crime and restore order across the region.

The operation included members from the Edenvale, Edleen and Kempton Park precincts, alongside specialized units including By-Laws, Equestrian, First Response Unit (FRU), K9, Public Order Policing (POP), Second-Hand Goods, Social Crime, Towing and Intervention Units.
