Kempton Park charity shop appeals for volunteers
East Rand Palliative Care is calling on residents to give their time and help raise funds for its vital work.
East Rand Palliative Care is looking for volunteers to run its charity shop in Kempton Park, appealing to residents with time to spare to lend a hand.
For many people, the week quickly fills up with work, errands, family commitments and everything else that needs to get done. However, for those with a little time to spare, a few hours at the charity shop could make a real difference.
The charity shop is open Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 16:00 and Saturdays from 09:00 to 12:30, giving volunteers the flexibility to choose the days and hours that work best for them.

There is no expectation to volunteer every day or for a full shift. Whether you can give a few hours once a week, help occasionally, or simply choose a time that suits you, every bit of assistance is valued.
Volunteering in a charity shop may seem like a small thing, but the impact reaches much further than the shop floor.
Every donated item that is sorted, every customer who is helped and every sale made helps the shop raise funds that support the work of East Rand Palliative Care and the patients and families it cares for.

Helping could mean unpacking and sorting donations, arranging clothing, assisting customers or simply being there to lend a hand.
Along the way, it is also an opportunity to meet people, enjoy the company of others and become a little more involved in the local community.
For someone with a few hours available, whether a retiree, student, someone with flexible working hours or simply a person looking for a worthwhile way to give back, volunteering at the shop can be a simple way to put that time to good use.
You do not need special experience. You just need a little time and a willingness to help.
Whether that is a morning, an afternoon, a few hours during the week or some time on a Saturday, East Rand Palliative Care would love to hear from you.
