Residents, schools, businesses and community organisations are encouraged to support National Cupcake Day at Norkem Corner on September 26.

Residents, schools, businesses and community organisations are being encouraged to get involved in National Cupcake Day at Norkem Corner on September 26.

The initiative, organised by Cupcakes of Hope, raises funds to provide practical and emotional support to children with cancer and their families.

The organisation currently assists more than 140 patients each month, with funds helping families with medical needs, transport, nutrition and other essential expenses.

Residents can support the initiative by buying or baking cupcakes, sponsoring cupcakes, hosting a fundraiser or making a donation.

The Norkem Park community is being challenged to help reach this year’s target of 3 000 cupcakes and R60 000.

Every contribution, whether through cupcakes, fundraising or donations, helps support children and families affected by cancer.

The National Cupcake Day event will take place at Norkem Corner from 09:00 on September 26.
