Residents urged to prioritise health at Birchleigh Clinic open day
Residents will be able to access a range of screenings, health information, support services and referrals at the event.
Residents will have access to a range of healthcare services during a Mental Health, Breast Cancer and Health Open Day at Birchleigh Main Clinic on Wednesday, October 14.
The open day, which starts at 09:00, is being hosted in partnership with Gauteng Health and the City of Ekurhuleni.
Residents will be able to access a range of screenings, health information, support services and referrals at the event.
Services on offer will include breast cancer screening and education, mental health support and counselling, TB screening and treatment, HIV and STI testing, immunisation and family planning.
Residents will also be able to access blood pressure and diabetes screening, general health services and referrals.
Ward 15 Councillor Amanda Davison encouraged residents to make use of the opportunity to access multiple services at one venue.
“Our local clinics play an incredibly important role in keeping our communities healthy. An Open Day like this gives residents an opportunity to access a range of services, get screened and ask questions about their health, all in one place,” she said.
Davison said prevention and early intervention remained important in maintaining good health.
“Please don’t wait until you are unwell before taking care of your health. Come along, get screened, get informed and make your health a priority,” she said.
Residents are encouraged to attend the Birchleigh Main Clinic Open Day on October 14 and make use of the services available.
