Hijackers caught on Pretoria Rd
The woman and her family were held at gunpoint in the driveway of their home

On Wednesday evening, February 12 at 7.30pm our family became victims of an attempted hijacking.
We were just saying goodbye to our son and grandson when the incident took place.
My husband opened the gate while I strapped our grandson into his car seat when a silver car stopped and a man jumped out of it and threw my husband down onto our driveway and held a gun to his head.
My son ran towards his father but stopped when he saw the gun. I started screaming and running towards them.
Luckily, we weren’t hurt as the gunman ran off after the car he came in started to speed off. The gunman fired a shot at me.
All in all it was a very scary incident that could have ended in tragedy.
We would like to thank Alpha and SSS Community Security Services for their quick response. The police arrived later as they only had one vehicle at their disposal in our sector. A big thanks you to them as well.
A big thank you to the flying squad who managed to apprehend the hijackers along Pretoria Road, who are now in custody. I would like to urge all Allen Grove ext 2 and 4 residents to sign the forms that are being circulated so we can close off our area as soon as possible.
