Hospital is not only dangerous
Tembisa Hospital is also probably the most inefficient with the utmost of rude staff members

Tembisa Hospital might not only be the most dangerous hospital in the province but also probably the most inefficient with the utmost of rude staff members.
My domestic assistant has to collect her medication for rumathoid arthritis at Tembisa Hospital on a monthly basis. In August 2013, she was sent home without her medication, as her file could not be found.
After several calls and complaints from my side that it was absolutely unacceptable for a patient to be sent home without his meds, she was asked to return to collect her medication.
Since September 2013 until March 2014, my domestic reported every month that her file could not be found. As her next medication was due on April 10, I phoned the hospital on April 9 to require that her file be found.
After my call was transferred from one department to the next, I asked to speak to the head of administration and the superintendent – of course these efforts were also unsuccessful (is there a superintendent?).
At last I spoke to a woman called Esther, who was extremely rude. She screamed at me and when I threatened to report the hospital to the HPCSA for unprofessional and poor service, she replied: “Then go ahead!” and put the phone down.
Eventually, after I had to call again and restrain myself, a woman called Rose was very polite and retrieved my domestic’s file – which was available the following day (thanks, Rose).
If there is a department of human resources at the hospital (or a superintendent), please do something about the poor image which is reflected by your hospital. Totally unacceptable.
