No refuse collection yet again
To visit the municipal offices near the library is most of the time a nightmare

LES HIRONDELLES of Birch Acres writes:
We as Kemptonians are again experiencing the non-collection of household refuse in our neighbourhoods. This past week there were hardly any collections done, especially On July 31 around Birch Acres.
Our municipal accounts show a debit for every week’s collection but never a credit for non-collection of refuse. I get the impression that we as citizens of South Africa must pay, regardless what type of service or non-service was rendered.
The technology of Ekurhuleni fails sometimes and if your water or electricity meter reading is an astronomical amount, you are told, “Pay up and we will see if your account can be corrected”.
The suspicion that there are individuals in our midst that tamper with water and electricity meters is an area of concern to me and all property owners of Kempton Park.
To visit the municipal offices near the library is most of the time a nightmare. One waits in queues for an awful long time, for example, to change the date of payment on your municipal account, just to notice the next month that it was never changed.
Please remember, it costs us money to visit the offices of this giant Ekurhuleni. We as workers must ask for a day’s leave, forfeit lost income, petrol for our vehicles, wear and tear and to be patient while standing in long queues to be served or to be referred to another counter, yet another queue awaits your arrival, be patient.
We as inhabitants of Kempton demand more accurate billing on our accounts, more efficient service principals and definitely no charge for no services rendered.
