Metro shows disrespect with no answers
It's disgraceful that the metro's spokesman disrespects the public who indirectly are paying his salary

FRANCO DITERLIZZI of Bonaero Park writes:
I always read Express to keep abreast of local Kempton Park municipal affairs.
Maybe I am mistaken but lately I seem to have noticed a preponderance of readers’ letters complaining about poor council service delivery, invariably carrying a footnote from the Editor saying that the metro failed to respond to the correspondence forwarded to them.
At least we used to get regular replies from council spokespersons, albeit with a blanket defence and never admitting to any wrongs.
The Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department spokesman, Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago, seems to be a rare different species who always gives prompt and detailed responses. I hope the metro appreciate him.
These days virtually every self important manager and state and municipal department is represented by an extremely highly paid spokesperson. That’s all they do all day, so it’s disgraceful that they disrespect the public who indirectly are paying those salaries, by ignoring the correspondence.
We deserve far better from our council.
