Kitchen cupboards never finished
The magistrate only awarded them the money spent on material they had to buy to have the cupboards finished

I would like to warn all Kempton Express readers to be very careful when using Dynamic Projects.
Here is my experience with this company.
After a visit with my parents in Cape Town in September 2013, we decided they needed to move to Johannesburg in order for us to look after them.
We had a Mr M Viljoen come out to give us a quote for kitchen units, a small bathroom basin, cupboard and bedroom cupboard.
He gave us the quote and mentioned there would be a price increase in the building sector in November 2013. He requested the money upfront in order for him to get the materials before this price increase.
We made full payment on October 3, 2013 and asked that he completed the work before December 15, 2013. This was not the case.
In January 2014 we made contact via text messages to find out what was happening. He started with some of the cupboards but did not finish due to a lack of funds on his side.
On February 10, he sent a message saying they wanted to carry on with the work. I informed him I am recovering from an operation and would appreciate if he could wait a week.
In March I sent messages asking when Viljoen would complete the work. He had every excuse from being in hospital to his car getting stolen, lack of funds or waiting on funds to come in. After some messages he would put in a cupboard and counter top. It was a slow process.
We gave Viljoen dates to complete in order for plumbers and tilers to complete work but he never showed up. Some of the kitchen cupboards don’t have backings and the main bedroom cupboard doesn’t have its backings either.
Some cupboards are chipped and the bathroom cupboard is far too big for the small bathroom.
We took him to the small claims court and to our surprise there was another couple taking him to court on the same day. The judge only awarded us the money spent on material we had to buy to have the cupboards finished.
We are now faced with paying someone else to complete the work. This letter serves as a warning to our community.
