Resident expected to complete illegible document
It was a mistake that Anonymous had been given the unclear copy
ANONYMOUS writes:
On Friday, February 13, I went to the Kempton Park licensing department to obtain a duplicate registration certificate for my vehicle.
I approached the information desk and requested the necessary forms to complete my application and at the information desk I was handed the following: one pink form, one white form and one photocopy of an unreadable form.
How can the department issue such forms and expect the public to complete them? How can an application form be completed and processed with hardly readable questions to be filled in?
The licensing department should be ashamed of themselves, presenting such utterly poor forms to the public.
This is a total disgrace and the supervision in charge should be ashamed of themselves. As usual, I suppose no action will be taken as the excuse will most probably be that of the machine had no ink.
How can such forms be photocopied whereas it is a legal printed form which should be available to the public at all times. Are they doing their own thing or is this going to be referred as an emergency solution, or even better, government printer could not supply or they had no stock or what other excuse.
Is this just another don’t care attitude displayed by the licensing department, especially Kempton Park?
Metro spokesman, Themba Gadebe, replies:
It was a mistake that Anonymous had been given the unclear copy.
The EMM experienced a delay from Government Printers in delivering various stock orders to the licensing offices.
For the delay not to be an inconvenience to customers, copies were made to ensure that customers were assisted. However, due to the large demand, some copies were not very clear as the cartridge was about to run out.
The copies that did not come out clear were put aside and only the clear ones were issued to customers to use. The metro apologises for the inconvenience.
