Look out for these water thieves
No-one was blamed for this minor oversight, not even Jan van Riebeeck

On Thursday evening, April 2 our water supply trickled to a standstill.
On Good Friday morning, my neighbour, Ray, phoned to find out the problem. Apparently, the reservoir was empty but they were refilling it.
No other explanation was given and naturally no-one was blamed for this minor oversight, not even apartheid or Jan van Riebeeck.
We could only assume then that the water had been stolen.
Residents are asked to look out for other residents or non-residents walking around with a 44-gallon drum of water balanced on their heads.
