Postmen show no respect for mail

This is misconduct and should not be tolerated

EDLEEN RESIDENT writes:

I would like to bring the following incident to your attention which happened in the Edleen area on May 20.

In the past we have experienced several incidents where our mail was not delivered due to industrial disputes.

The situation has changed somehow from not receiving mail to receiving mail which it is not safely placed in our mail boxes.

In fact, it is such a big effort for the postman that he decided to throw the mail over the fence, despite weather conditions or losing the mail completely. According to my view, he does not fulfil his duties properly and should not be trusted to fulfil this kind of function where he earns a salary.

I am sure it is expected of him to deliver a proper service to the public as I am not the only person who is affected by the mishandling of mail.

These actions affect everybody’s mail which is treated the same way.

This was my third incident and my neighbour’s mail was treated the same way today.

This is a misconduct and should not be tolerated. Postmen should be trained on how important it is to ensure safe delivery.

Most of the time this results in no mail being received or being completely destroyed by our dogs.
