Emergency lights ‘help’ JMPD car through red lights

Couldn't have been too much of an emergency as he had passengers in the back seat

DONOVAN GOULD writes via Kempton Express’ Facebook page:

This morning, July 3, on my way to work, I came across a JMPD Polo sedan driving through traffic lights on Modderfontein Road.

I first encountered him at the lights on Mooifontein Road, turning right on Modderfontein. He sat for a couple of seconds, put his flashing lights on, then drove.

A couple of seconds later the lights were turned off. At the next traffic lights the same thing, drives on the painted island, flashing lights, then goes through the red light.

Then off again go his “emergency” lights. He proceeds down Modderfontein through all the lights repeating these offences.

The problem is that immediately after driving through the red lights, he turned off the emergency lights. Couldn’t have been too much of an emergency as he had passengers in the back seat.

The number plate is CL85DNGP. If the JMPD can drive any way they like, then that is how all South African drivers will follow.
