Sewage wipes out all wetland life

Do the most logical thing by digging the trenches and getting the work done

Referring to the article in Kempton Express on October 8 regarding Bonaero Park’s sewage dilemma.

Ekurhuleni is making this situation look like the joke of the year. The sewer is flowing freely into the bird sanctuary. Where is the health department, department of environmental affairs and the top brass that should have sorted this problem out long ago?

With the new installation they could not dig trenches as environmental affairs were concerned about the effect of the disruption. Where are these environmental people now?

The endangered bullfrogs – wiped out. Bird life left at zero. Rats, insects and occasional snakes are also virtually non-existent.

This has been going on for the past two years. The smell is totally unbearable as it is unacceptable. This is a health hazard as well. A comment from a doctor – if you can smell it, it is in your lungs.

Please come on board, Ekurhuleni, smell the poo like we do every day and do the most logical thing by digging the trenches and getting the work done properly this time.
