Chief must put words into action

Grand phrases are easy to make.

The work demanded of the new chief of police, Bafana Andries Mahlabe, EXPRESS October 22, is considerable.

The first thing he needs to do is to rebuild the confidence of the public in his police force.

The force is rightly perceived by the public as a corrupt, incompetent, bullying bunch of misfits and degenerates.

Grand phrases like “The party is over” are easy to make – let’s see him convert them into real action.
