Are they afraid to confront the taxi industry?

EMPD officers ignore the mess at the transfer station

WILLIE of Norkem Park writes:

The reply by Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago, metro police spokesman, regarding constant accusations levelled against the EMPD, refers.

The only conclusion I get to when reading your reply is that you do not live in Kempton Park and secondly, you obviously never travel in an unmarked vehicle in the Kempton Park area.

The majority of Kemptonians will confirm that it is a rare sight to see an EMPD officer writing a ticket for not stopping at traffic lights or stop streets.

Another critical problem is that we have 20- and 30-year-old dilapidated non-roadworthy taxis on our roads, transporting commuters and school children that the EMPD seems to turn a blind eye to. Or are they afraid to confront the taxi industry?

As far as by-laws go, the mess at Norkem Park Transfer Station at McDonald’s is not only an eye-sore but people using the facility are harassed by the people loitering at the entrance.

I see EMPD officers passing there daily, ignoring the situation, especially over weekends.

I dare you to get a reputable company to do a survey with residents (moaners) to get their opinion on the EMPD.
