Can’t someone help with filthy Norkem Park?

These same people also sit and drink beer just outside MacDonald's

Mpumi Motsabi of  Norkem Park writes:

I am reaching out to Kempton Express to possibly investigate this growing issue we see in Norkem Park in detail.

I am an extremely concerned resident who is tired of seeing the rubbish and old items strewn across the pavements at the Norkem Park entrance. It is unsightly and seems to be getting out of control as nothing is being done about it.

The people raid bakkiescars taking stuff to the junkyard, offload the goods to then try and resell. I can sympathise with their cause to make some money but this is not the way to do it. I am tired of driving past this every day and of course the people that do this have no regard for how they leave the area because it’s not home to them.

These same people also sit and drink beer just outside MacDonald’s, at the entrance to the dump. There are always loiterers in the area. We can’t let this go on.

The metro police’s presence is seen on weekends to stop the sale of cars on that empty space outside McDonald’s but I haven’t seen attempts to stop these people from dirtying the area with their “loot”.

Perhaps the EMPD is not tasked to enforce such rules, then who is?

Norkem Park is my home and I simply cannot watch it deteriorate like this. What can I as a resident do? Kindly advise what channels I can take to try and address this.
