We live in a small townhouse complex. I’m convinced there are more animals than people living here.
This poses the question: is the constant yapping/barking/baying/howling of the dogs considered to be abuse of humans by animals or abuse of humans by humans?
In a former life I must have been one of Cruella’s henchmen. I’m sure I’m being repaid for my sins. The constant barking has almost become nerve racking.
No one seems to get their animals to keep quiet, even though not all residents are at work. The daytime barking is bad enough. The early morning wake-up call, anywhere between midnight and 6am, is worse.
I’ve spoken to the neighbours to control their animals. I get the modern day denial phrase: “It’s not our fault”.
Do the owners go to bed with ear plugs? Am I to blame because I’m a light sleeper? At times the noise sounds like an SPCA compound. What has become of the municipal by-law of two dogs per property?
We had animals, ranging from two Great Danes right down to an inherited Maltese poodle. They slept indoors at night. An early warning system also might prevent the dogs from being poisoned.
Cynical the following might be, but has anyone whose dogs have been poisoned thought the constant barking of their animals might have driven one of their neighbours to do this dreadful deed?
I really need to know who one appeals to. Perhaps someone out there can tell me.
