Pre-paid meters: what an issue to get hold of the metro
Number given by the metro just rings and rings

I wrote to Express a few weeks ago regarding the issue with the pre-paid electricity meters we were supplied with.
These meters are totally unreliable. You published a reply from Ekurhuleni, giving a number (011-999-3925), that could be phoned as new meters are in the pipeline for mid-May and this way we would be able to get or order a new one.

Well, I was not surprised at all trying to phone this number as I knew beforehand I would be unsuccessful getting through to them.
The phone rings for quite a few times, then all of a sudden it goes to the “engage” sound. This has been happening since your paper was published on March 31.
The only, and last thing now, would be to go to the mountain, as the mountain would not come to me. Myself and others need this desperately to be changed as I am sure I am not the only one experiencing this problem.
Is this the service we need from our local municipality and do the people working there really deserve the chair they are equipped with to sit in?
I and many others have invested in this city. The rubbish and potholes on our roads are not what the outside world wants to see. Our country should be an example to all our foreign visitors and something we should all be proud of.
Let us all work together. We could and will be on the “map” again for the outside world and ourselves by changing our attitude in life.
