Poisoned cat left in owners driveway

To all the other people staying in Featherdale Estate, please keep your animals safe

ISOLDE SAAIMAN writes:

This morning, April 8, when we woke up we found our cat dead in our driveway. Nicely placed next to our water meter and out of range of our alarm beams.

Our cat, a Siamese named Whisky, was part of our family for six years. We stay in a pet-friendly estate, or so we thought.

Never once did anyone complain directly to me that he was a nuisance. If he was, couldn’t you have approached me and I could have kept him inside instead of committing a crime and poison an animal.

Do you know that you can be criminally charged under the Animal Protection Act 71 of 1962? You did not see our children’s tears. You did not consider what impact this would have on our family.

So to you, Mr/s Animal Killer, please pray that you will never be found as I will lay charges against you. I know you stay in Featherdale Estate, as my cat never goes far from my home.

To all the other people staying in Featherdale Estate, please keep your animals safe.

To us, Whisky was part of our family and he will be missed greatly.

RIP Whisky. Love your family.
