AfriForum helps maintain the city

All Ekurhuleni residents would do well to note the positive steps they take

PETER B PALMER of Glen Marais writes:

I notice with increasing regularity AfriForum is being credited with community-minded initiatives and actions.

I would like to congratulate them on these positive actions. This goes a long way to correcting misperceptions that they are a politically motivated organisation concerned only with the furthering of Afrikaans speaking people.

All Ekurhuleni residents would do well to note the positive steps they take in helping to maintain and improve our municipal area. For instance, a group of volunteers cleaned up the mess next to the transfer station in Norkem Park which is something the metro should be doing.

Another member reported illegal dumping next to Pretoria Road leading to the apprehension and fining of the offender.

I am sure there are other such actions that have gone unreported. I have joined the AfriForum group although I am English speaking because I support the positive mindset they display and the efforts they expend to improve our environment. Well done AfriForum and keep up the good work.
