I was delighted to learn about the two house robbers who were shot dead in Van Riebeeck Park.
Well done to the brave resident who used his democratic right to defend himself. The community who fears their cowardly attacks and their families who surely are ashamed of their way of life, are better off without them.
As a previous victim of an armed house robbery myself, I am very aware of the pathetic arrest and conviction rates of house robbers. Most of them are simply never caught.
Some of the cases of those who get arrested never land up in court because the police have done sloppy work or have botched the evidence. Others simply buy themselves out of the system through corrupt officials, while others walk free because they know how to exploit the norm in our judicial system that criminals have more rights than their victims.
Any religious person will agree that a person who daily feeds off the blood of the innocent, will end up in hell if he is fatally wounded while on ‘duty’. Therefore I find joy in my heart that these two are already facing the punishment of everything that Hades has to offer.
Accurate shooting when robbers invade your home and threaten your life will every time ensure instant, righteous judgement and appropriate punishment.
