DA starts petition for increased visible policing

Residents are encouraged to go online and sign the different petitions

Michael Waters MP writes:

THE fact that more and more people feel unsafe in their homes is a shocking reality and is totally unacceptable. Our homes are becoming fortresses and we are the prisoners.

One way of reducing break-ins and armed robberies is through visible policing. The more police we have patrolling our streets the more it acts as a deterrent to would-be criminals.

At the moment we only have a maximum of two police officers patrolling each section at any given time, which is clearly not enough. In order to get the number of visible police officers increased the DA has launched a petition for the three different police stations covering Kempton Park.

Residents are encouraged to go online and sign the different petitions.

I will be handing the petition into Parliament where the Portfolio Committee on Community Safety will call the relevant national police officers before them in order to put forward the residents’ demands.
