I worked late one evening a while ago. As I stopped at the Veld and Vlei street intersection, I witnessed almost the same thing. A guy driving a white Fortuner drove up Vlei Street. He was so drunk he did not stop at the stop street at all and went straight over towards the gate of Kruinsig.
If I had not stopped and hooted, he would’ve driven right into me or the gate. I was so nervous following him up to Rietfontein Road where he turned left. He was driving more off the road and in the wrong lane than on the road.
I just want to warn other motorists that might be on the road in that area late at night to be on the lookout for drunken drivers. It’s a nightmare to be on the road from 10pm on Friday nights especially! Month end, even from 5pm.
