Norkem Park High matric dance drive is a huge success

'Without people like you our learners and community will be lost'

BUSISWA SAMBUDLA, school counsellor writes:

On behalf of Norkem Park High School we would like to thank Kempton EXPRESS and the community for not only being a part of us and our community at large but also by supporting us in making our learners’ dream of going to their matric dance on September 30 come true.

Without people like you our learners and community would be lost. We are happy that we still have people like you as part of our community who are willing to offer assistance where it is needed.

Norkem Park High School is not only a school but a family and we really appreciate having all of you as part of our family. If it was not for all the generosity and kindness from the community, our learners would not have been able to go to the matric dance and share the same experiences as other learners who have parents with resources.

On behalf of us and the learners we want you to know that we value your support and we would appreciate it if you could continue giving us your support by remaining a part of our family at Norkem Park High School.

We would also like to thank the following people: Melissa Steward, managing director of U’r Staffing Solutions donated dresses, accessories and shoes; Ebeth van Heerden from Allan Gray donated dresses; Emily Tsegofatso Masigo from Mr & Miss Prom donated hired dresses and suits to our learners for free; Elizabeth Kiff donated R500 from the Norkem High Class of 1984; Elaine du Toit donated dresses and clutch bags; Berenice Cradock (Mrs Africa) donated dresses, accessories, suits and shirts; Tosca D’ Andrea helped with the photography; Mark donated R500 towards the venue and food; Kazzie Campbell helped with photography; Alicia Loots from Kempton EXPRESS who published the article that assisted in bringing in all the donors who assisted in the drive, as well as dresses, shoes and suits; Masego Madisha bought dresses and suits from Foschini for our learners; Denise, our previous tuck shop lady, donated R800 towards the drive; Nikiwe from Salon Chaniks did the learners’ hair; Norkem Park High School matric dance committee; and Mrs Pillay who helped make our learners’ dream of going to the dance come true by assisting with paying for the venue and food; Douglas, a previous Norkem High School learner, donated R4 500 towards the matric dance drive; and just all the people who assisted us with make-up and all the people who made drop-off donations at the school.
