THE MANSFIELD FAMILY writes:
Life certainly has its ups and downs. In June 2012, we experienced the latter in no uncertain terms.
Our dear mother, Yvonne Mansfield, who up to that point had led a very active and independent life, had a severe stroke which left her unable to communicate and paralysed down the right side of her body.
It was evident that she would need therapy and a place to stay that could care for her specific needs.
After visiting numerous care facilities, we stumbled across Glenrus Frail Care Centre within the Glenrus Retirement Home in Adrea street, Glen Marais. The centre is run by Sister Dora Roux and her team of carers.
Our mum was at Glenrus for five years before she passed away at the end of April. During her stay at the home, she received care that went beyond the call of duty, both from Sister Dora and the staff.
With Sister Dora’s many years of experience in the medical field and her passion for caring for the elderly, the home is run in a most professional way. The carers were always helpful, friendly and most competent.
It’s a difficult time when parents pass on but it is comforting to know that our mum was deeply loved and respected by the staff at Glenrus Frail Care.
Sister Dora and the staff, thank you, thank you, thank you!
