Should we or shouldn’t we start using the bins, resident asks

I keep receiving messages from the council regarding FAQs about the new wheelie bins.

I cannot find any answers there for my questions.

Firstly, our waste collection is on Tuesdays. Last week our bags were lying on the pavement until Saturday. On Wednesday night I heard my dogs barking and upon checking noticed a rat running on the pavement towards the bags.

On Friday morning I decided to take the bags to the transfer station myself. Then on Saturday morning the truck came past to pick up the bags. Is this so they can get paid overtime or what is the reason?

On my way to the transfer station, I passed by my children’s house in Birchleigh Ext 10. Here they pick up waste on Thursdays. The waste was only collected on Friday.

Now, in an SMS received from the council it states that people should start using their wheelie bins and that is what my children did. But their bags were left untouched inside the bin.

Now my question is, should we or shouldn’t we start using the bins, and if not, from when then?
