I am writing this letter as a concerned resident on Dann Road.
I have noticed a lot of fast drivers between Monument Road and Duffton Street, especially motorcycles. They have turned that stretch of road into some Kyalami racetrack. It is clearly indicated that it is strictly a 60km/h zone.
We have kids crossing that road to shops, we have motor vehicles turning into the complex. These drivers and riders – most of them – take no notice of that.
You are trying to turn to enter the complex and while waiting for oncoming traffic, you get hooted at. Most of these people are very intolerant.
We often have the metro police putting up speed traps at the créche up the road, but it doesn’t seem to deter these speed masters.
What if the municipality put up about two or three speed bumps on that road? Or what about widening the road? Whichever is easier for the municipality, will do.
