Reader: we should not have to pay for a non-existing service

Why doesn’t the metro provide facts by telling the truth about what is going on?

I see from Kempton Express’ website that the municipal department handling refuse removal is in shambles.

So what isn’t in shambles? It seems anything the ANC runs is always in chaos, nothing is organised, nothing works properly and there is no communication whatsoever, but still, we are ripped off by having to pay.

On the 16th, one of those new garbage trucks drove down the entire length of my road without emptying any bins that were out, nor did they collect anybody’s garbage bags.

On the 23rd, no garbage truck was seen at all and there hasn’t been one since. Are we now to dump our garbage on the steps of the municipality in town?

I won’t have litter pickers rummaging through my bin, creating more mess, and soon, rats will add to the disaster. Why are we being charged for this so-called service?

Are these people being paid to take a joyride through the suburbs without doing any work? Are they also being paid overtime for “working” on weekends too, after doing nothing all week? It seems so.

Why doesn’t the metro provide facts by telling the truth about what is going on?

Until the idiots who are running the metro into the ground can properly organise a correctly-working weekly refuse removal service, affected residents should not be charged, and if they have been, the amount for each week of non-service should be refunded, as the shambles lies with the metro.

Once the system is operating properly, all garbage must be removed, be it in bags or bins, until they have caught up. Why must we residents have to put up with this disgusting state of affairs?
