Festival Mall security helps to trace phone

"I can now shop in peace at Festival Mall with the knowledge that these guys will go out of there way to help keep Festival Mall safe."

The staff of Bafana Security Services at Festival Mall are my heroes. You have gone more than the extra mile to help me and I salute your service.

I visited the Hyperama recently to buy a few things. The store was extremely busy that day with almost all the tills packed and the rows of shoppers running almost to the middle of Hyperama. When I was almost at the front, I looked in my handbag for my cellphone to contact my son.

My cellphone was gone. I looked all over and one of the ladies was so kind to offer her phone so I could contact my cellphone. My phone was just ringing. I don’t know her name but a big thank you to you for your kindness you showed that day.

I went to the front help desk of the Hyperama and they were so helpful to open a line for me so I could contact my son to track my phone with Find my Device.

Two of the security guards at Hyperama stepped up and made their phones available so my son could contact them and tell them exactly where the person was who had stolen my phone.

The person who took my phoned moved out of the Hyperama towards Nedbank and then to the ice rink side. We followed the phone signal walking up and down. The security guards realised the person could see we were following him/her, so they called the “undercover” security personnel to come and help track the phone.

What an amazing team. I did not even know there were undercover security guards in the mall. They, including the owner/boss of the security firm, came to my rescue and helped me to track my phone and look for the person.

The person moved around the whole time and at one stage went out at entrance 3 and came back in at the entrance close to Game.

After more than an hour of walking up and down Festival Mall the phone was found. Someone handed my phone in to the lost and found manager of Hyperama.

I think he/she realised they won’t get away with stealing my phone. I can now shop in peace at Festival Mall with the knowledge that these guys will go out of there way to help keep Festival Mall and Hyperama safe.
