Stop at the stop sign, says Birch Acres resident

'It is a miracle that a child has not been run over yet

Concerned Birch Acres driver writes:

Kwartel Road in Birch Acres has been doubled in lanes to accommodate the traffic from the south western part of Tembisa.

The problem is not the increase in traffic now, but the total disregard for stop signs on that road.

Most people don’t even slow down at the intersections. About once a month the traffic department deploys officers (always at the same intersection), but this does not have any effect on the driving habits.

A serious problem is the fact that a primary school is situated just off Kwartel Road, between Kwikstertjie Avenue and Flamink Road.

It is a miracle that a child has not been run over yet. I hate speed humps but I believe this would minimise the risk of children being hit by speeding traffic.
