Do they want to wait for the bridge to collapse?

There are on a weekly basis vehicles stuck under the bridge

CONCERNED RESIDENT in Birchleigh writes:

Is it not time that our metro police decide to ban all heavy vehicles (trucks, overloaded bakkies and anything that is stacked high) from using Elgin Road?

There are alternative roads for them, not for us. It does not help to fix one problem (fixing the road) but allowing another problem.

There are, on a weekly basis, vehicles stuck under the bridge because the drivers of these vehicles do not know or familiarise themselves with the height restriction under the bridge.

It is causing huge frustration and inconvenience for residents who have to use this road daily and it is causing damage to the structure of the bridge and railway line.

Do they want to wait for the bridge to one day collapse because of the strain and cause more damage and harm?
