Family buys for SPCA animals

Family commends the SPCA on this initiative

VRP Cat-loving Family writes:

The Express article (December 13), Grab a towel and shampoo, refers.

This related to the SPCA initiative “Brush and Wash Day” on December 22 at its premises on Fitter Road, Spartan.

Our family is much more a cat-loving family than a dog one, so opted to visit the sanctuary with treats for the furry felines, and spent an enjoyable couple of hours “cuddling kitties”.

Older cats also looking for a home were not bypassed. They too enjoyed being stroked and given attention. We had decided to not buy each other Christmas gifts this year but to instead buy for the animals, and it was a decision well made.

We believe several animals were re-homed as a result of this open day and commend the SPCA on the initiative.

Perhaps it would consider doing the same again at, say, Easter, and residents spend on animals in need rather than on Easter eggs.
