City is painted white and yellow instead of red

All we have to do now is hope that motorists adhere to the clear instructions

AN APPRECIATIVE RESIDENT writes:

There is an old saying about “painting the town red” but in this instance, there are two colours, white and yellow.

Well done to the roads department which, in the run-up to Christmas, re-painted road markings in several parts of the town.

This has needed to be done in several areas of Kempton Park and I am sure that motorists and pedestrians alike appreciate that faded signage (especially STOP at road junctions) is now once again clearly visible.

All we have to do now is hope that motorists adhere to the clear instructions. (This includes not driving on/over yellow ‘traffic islands’).

In the past, I have sent requests through to the municipality for such road markings to be re-done, and those have always been responded to.

At Caxton, we employ humans to generate daily fresh news, not AI intervention. Happy reading!
