Dear metro, you are hereby given notice …

Please note this letter carries an extra charge of R180.

Ratepayer writes:

Ekurhuleni municipality,

You are hereby given notice of non-payment of my account due to the non-delivery of services.

Please explain ASAP as to why there is a lack of service delivery and when we can expect service delivery to be up and running again?

Please do not use any excuses like unforeseen breakdowns or lack of funds as you bend over backwards to all the informal settlements which do not contribute any money towards your monthly income.

We as ratepayers are the first to get all these extra nice little notices if we do not pay on time.

Due to this ongoing service problem, I feel you must refund all our ratepayers the last two months’ service charges, as it was not done timeously as promised by you.

Also, the promises made on a daily basis are not kept but you can award yourself a day off, even when Ekurhuleni is turning into the biggest rubbish dump in the east.

Please note this letter carries an extra charge of R180 which will be deducted when the service is normalised.

At Caxton, we employ humans to generate daily fresh news, not AI intervention. Happy reading!
