Have you seen what has happened to Kempton over the last decade and more?
The inner city of Kempton has become a dirty, litter-strewn town, with most of the big companies, including motor companies, moving elsewhere.
Have you tried walking down the streets of Kempton, and can you even imagine pushing a baby in a pram? It’s impossible due to the destruction of the pavements, not to mention what happens if you are in a wheelchair.
We should put the mayor in a wheelchair and ask him to navigate Kempton. The council digs holes and never does proper repairs. I feel sorry for the inner-city residents who have to live like that.
Now, let’s look at what has been destroyed.
Have you tried going for a swim in the public pool? If the water is not green, there is no water. Never mind that the grounds around the pool are never mowed and weeds have taken over. Sorry, children of Kempton.
Kempton Hospital was killed long ago.
The dreams of an aerotropolis killed big companies, which will invest outside the CBD.
The compactors at the refuse transfer station at the top of Highveld Road have not worked for years. Now the waste is a serious health risk for the workers.

Public safety – no more. We have bridges without railings, railway lines without fencing, rail cars without doors or windows, manholes and stormwater drains without covers, and electricity poles and boxes with exposed wiring.
I will say our mayor just doesn’t care about his citizens.
Little Lagos is an area destroyed by drugs and lawlessness.
By-laws – not enforced. Residents can drive how they please, build illegal dwellings as they please, and people dump their trolley bins on the corner of the street. Sies.
Why do we have laws if they cannot be enforced?
