READER: Fire everyone, only keep the mayor

Although he is nowhere to be found, we need someone to carry (wear) the chain.

CONCERNED KEMPTON PARK RESIDENT writes:

I would like to address this letter to the office of the President of SA, Kempton Park municipality, Kempton Park metro police and all political parties.

I have an idea to improve the non-existing service in Kempton Park.

1. Fire all municipal workers, from the manager to the lowest individual, as the deterioration of infrastructure warrants their dismissal.

2. Appoint a private company (auditing firm) to manage and control all maintenance, but do not employ a company based on BEE, as that is the downfall resulting in incompetence.

3. Fire the metro police as they are nowhere to be seen and found in the local restaurants. Employ a private company to control all speed checks and road rules and regulations based on specific guidelines to reach certain goals.

4. Form a ratepayers association to control and manage all municipal payments to Rand Water and Eskom.

5. Appoint a private company to manage all refuse removal based on performance goals, not nepotism and incompetence.

6. The only individual to be kept is the mayor. Although he is nowhere to be found, we need someone to carry (wear) the chain, but reduce his pay to a commission only as he is always missing in action.

This is for attention, the President of SA:

Mr President, do you not think it would be in the interest of all taxpayers that salary scales for SOEs and municipalities be determined by government as we (taxpayers) note that managers and directors in these SOEs and municipalities are paid higher salaries than the president. This does not make sense.

Lastly, the appointed ministers must have the required expertise in the area employed.
