8 000 houses – when will this happen?

As usual, there is much talk and absolutely no action.

Berniece Eales from Edleen writes:

I had a quiet giggle at the lead article in Kempton Express dated March 19, “8 000 houses coming”.

Really? Will this happen before or after the metro police station in Edleen and the Albertina Sisulu Fire Station on Highveld Road are completed?

All that happens is that residents of the greater Kempton Park no longer believe anything that emanates from the council and are left more frustrated than ever.

I’m sure some of the answers will be, it’s not a local matter, it’s not our responsibility, the contractors reneged on the deal, no budget, the provincial government is responsible.

As usual, there is much talk and absolutely no action.

So, go ahead and rename the roads after the leadership of the council so that when everything collapses, we will know who was responsible and who to blame.
