Open old Kempton hospital to deal with lack of hospital beds, says reader

"I am convinced if the political will was there during the early days of the pandemic, that large parts of it could've been fixed and returned to its former functionality to assist all of us to face the terrible Covid-19 storm."

Editor – Kempton Park’s health-care facilities are under immense pressure and it is really difficult to find a hospital bed for specifically the elderly who might need one at this time.

Many are turned away to recover or even to perish elsewhere.

All indications are that this situation will persist well into the future, with a very real chance that it will even deteriorate.

This got me thinking as it is always better to be part of the solution and not simply an echo of the problem.

I thought about the old Kempton Park Hospital.

I know that parts of the hospital are unusable due to the years of disuse.

I am convinced if the political will was there during the early days of the pandemic, that large parts of it could’ve been fixed and returned to its former functionality to assist all of us to face the terrible Covid-19 storm.
