Reader complains about refuse in Blouvalk Avenue, Birch Acres

"I know we have problems in service delivery delays because of Covid-19 but this has been going on for more than two years."

Editor – I write in desperation for the metro to deal with the refuse problem in Blouvalk Avenue, Birch Acres Extension Four, on the open veld.

I know we have problems in service delivery delays because of Covid-19 but this has been going on for more than two years.

The municipality does not bother to clean on a regular basis, as I was told once this is a residential area.

Does it mean our rates and taxes do not pay for such a service? They did erect a fine sign which I am sure the rats are laughing about. This is a health hazard and definitely a ‘wonderful’ view to have from your windows every morning.

It is a fact that people have no education, nor respect for others, so a permanent solution like a fence or other would be extremely welcome.

Yet, I suppose the municipality does not have the money or the budget for this.
