Resident pens down frustrations over taxi rank

There is a taxi rank in Terenure, which causes much noise disturbance and anguish.

Editor – The Kempton Express had an article on noise nuisance and disturbances a short while ago.
There is a taxi rank at the corner of Kwartel Road and Orange River Drive, Terenure, that causes noise disturbance and anguish to the residents in the close vicinity.
The rank has no toilet facilities or any kind of ablutions, which is a cause of concern. Where do the patrons do their ablutions?
Residents report they use the nearby electrical box.
There is frequent loud music and partying, alcohol consumption and, of course, the constant hooting of the taxis.
I reside some distance away in Maraboe Road – the taxis have become most disrespectful to the residents and a real source of noise pollution to our suburb. Hooting and hooting up and down the streets over and over, sometimes with long blasts.
There is a school with lessons in progress, a church, people working from home and others that would just like the peace of the suburb restored.
I understand there is a need for transport for some residents in the suburb (the vast majority own their own vehicles), but to degrade the suburb with noise and lawlessness is really not acceptable. Is it possible to give the residents some exposure to this problem in the press?
As far as I am aware, the correct zoning applications for this taxi rank were never submitted.
