Support CANSA Golf Day with prizes

Botha described Adriaan as the version of a gentle giant

THE first CANSA Cup Golf Day will be held on April 17 to help cover the medical bills of a 22-year-old who has been diagnosed with leukaemia.

Adriaan Booysen has been diagnosed with T-cell or Lymphoblastic lymphoma/leukaemia (known as TALL) and is still in need of further financial assistance with his medical bills, which are about R1.56 million thus far.

The outstanding costs, which have not been covered by his medical aid, amount to R187 000. This does not include the transplant costs which are still to be calculated as soon as the process of his bone marrow transplant begins.

Natania Botha, first princess Mrs Cansa 2015, said: “One of the projects I have pledged myself with is the Hope for Adriaan Foundation. I have met Adriaan personally and he is just a normal 22-year-old trying to dream, even when he was put in a world where hope appears very far.”

Botha described Adriaan as the version of a gentle giant.

“He is both humble and strong, his life has touched me in many ways. We cannot buy our freedom, neither our health, but we can take hands and unite a boy with his dreams.”

“This year will be the first annual Cansa Cup 2015. With this we hope to assist other cancer patients with outstanding medical bills and really hope to make a difference,” she added.

Botha said for the golf day to be a success, they are in need of prize sponsors and sponsors for the 18-hole course.

“We would like to have prizes for first to fourth places, a raffle, goody bags for the start and sponsors per hole are at a contribution of R2 000. Any other donations are also welcome,” pleaded Botha.
