Local school emerges victorious
Olifantsfontein Primary School emerged victorious in a soccer tournament hosted on June 20.
The tournament, sponsored by A-thermal, saw four schools competing in front of 500 spectators.
According to the organiser, Mr Tebogo Kgatle, the participating teams were Bonaero Park Primary School, Jeug Park Primary School, Midrand Primary School and Olifantsfontein Primary School.
It was a competition for U/12 and U/13 teams.
The competition kicked off with the Bonaero Park team putting up a tough game against the Midrand boys in the U/13 game.
Bonaero Park won, beating Midrand 2-1.
In the second game, Olifantsfontein Primary School beat Midrand Primary School in the U/13 division with a final score of 1-0.
U/12 warriors took to the field in a third game between Jeug Park Primary School and Midrand Primary School. Jeug Park Primary School came out victorious, with a final score of 3-1
The Bonaero Park team drew 1-1 with Olifantsfontein in the U/12 division.
The fifth game was a battle between Midrand and Jeug Park Primary. The final score was 1-0 in favour of Jeug Park Primary School.
In the finals, Olifantsfontein Primary School took the trophy in the U/12 game against Bonaero Park Primary School after winning 1-0.
Olifantsfontein took a second trophy in the U/13 division after defeating Jeug Park Primary School 1-0.
Second place went to Jeug Park Primary School in the U/13 division and Boanero Park Primary in the U/12 division.
