Karate seminar with WKF World Kata Champion
Karatekas learned the basics of kata, how to use those basics to win competitions and how to improve their karate abilities
SENSEI Joos Huyzers and Henco Huyzers from Kempton Park Karate Academy attended a seminar held by Antonio Diaz, the World Karate Federation (WKF) World kata champion.
The seminar was held at Fourways High School from June 19 to 21, and was for senior students from blue to black belts.
Sensei Diaz spent a lot of time teaching on the basics of kata, how to use those basics to win competitions and how to improve karate abilities.
Diaz is from Venezuela and is a full-time karateka, he trains under karate master Soke Yoshimi Inoue from Japan and also teaches Inoue-ha Shito-ryu karate himself.
He was invited by Sensei Stef Biagioni (from Fourways Martial Arts) to come to South Africa during his off season and give students some of his kata knowledge.
