Mixed results for Kempton juniors

The two U/8 sides narrowly lost their matches

KEMPTON Park Cricket Club’s junior sides returned a mixed bag of results at the weekend.

U/8A beat Springs Old Boys by two runs. Kempton batted first and scored 106/8 – Sihaan Singh 27, Stian Smith 17 and Rihal Kissun 14.

Kempton held Springs to 104.

U/8B1 lost by one run against Benoni Northerns. Benoni batted first and scored 80 – Guillaume Botha 2/6.

Kempton scored 79 – James Howard 17 runs.

U/10A1 lost by four wickets against Avion Park. Kempton scored 81 – Luke Scrimgeour 22* and Jordan Joubert 15.

Tight bowling and fielding saw Avion only reach the target in the 22nd over with 6 wickets down.

U/10A2 beat Springs Old Boys by 78 runs. Kempton batted first and scored 145 – Ian Jonker 27* and Aiden Patterson 22*.

Kempton bowled Springs out for 67 with Kayden Dickinson taking 4/4 in 2 overs.

U/10B1 lost by five wickets against Tsakane. Kempton batted first and scored 148/8 – Ruan van der Merwe 68*.

Tsakane reached the target in the 20th over with Nicolas Grobler taking 3/27.

U/12 super league lost by 11 runs against Springs Old Boys. Springs batted first and scored 201/4 – Dwyne Green 2/21.

Kempton managed 190/5 – Reynier Overweg 67 and Kyle Botes 41.

U/12 B2 beat Caladonia by 107 runs. Kempton batted first and scored 189 runs – Marek Gough 68 and Esailen Ruthnam 29.

Caladonia were restricted to 82/3 – Diahn du Toit 1/14.

U/14 super league 1 lost by 119 runs against Springs Old Boys. Springs batted first and scored 183/5 – Colby Nunn 2/21.

Kempton scored 64 all out with Bjorn Barnard knocking 20 runs.

U/14A1 beat Avion Park by five wickets. Avion batted first and were restricted to 138/9 – Ruan Nel 2/20.

Kempton comfortably reached the score with five wickets down – Darian Nydoo scored 46*.
