Soccer teams urged to register for Easter games

The games will focus on sport, but there will be an opportunity for Tembisa residents to provide services

Tembisa soccer teams have been invited to register for the Mosehla Easter Games (MEG) due to host their seventh edition of the tournament in April 2019.

The tournament will start on April 19 and end on April 22. The games will take place at Square 2 next to Mehlareng Stadium, Esiqogweni sports centre. The finals will be played at Makhulong Stadium.

Co-founder and organiser of the event Tebogo Mosehla said 16 teams would compete for the top spot, and this will be during the Easter holidays.

Mosehla said a lucrative prize money of R110 000 will be awarded to the winner, while the losing finalist will pocket R50 000.

“Registrations opens on December 1 and will continue until February 28.

The games will focus on sport, but there will be an opportunity for the Tembisa residents to provide services such as decor, security and catering,” said Mosehla.

Mosehla said the supporters stand to win prizes of R2 000, adding that there would be no charge for attending the games.

“It’s all about uniting the people of Tembisa, and inviting other townships to witness how we play soccer in Tembisa,” he said.

For more information about the games, teams can call 082 754 1624.
